STUDIO JENNIE SAVAGE

I am an urbanist, creative thinker and social researcher with over twenty years experience specialising in co-design. I work with people and communities to shape and inform strategic plans and design guidance and local ‘vision’ and regeneration projects.

I believe that listening to local experts helps us design better, user focused, inclusive places.

My unique approach to amplifying community voices grounds big picture thinking in the fine detail of local knowledge and I’m particularly skilled at finding consensus and translating diverse views, perspectives and voices  into useable design themes.

I’m a public practice alum and an RTPI woman of Influence.

Work with me:
I work with local authorities and design teams on engagement components of design codes and guidance through to strategy and visioning.

My approach is highly collaborative, open and curious and I can provide a unique skill set to ensure community aspiration shapes design outcomes.

Jennie delivered an exceptional interdisciplinary piece of research into gender inclusive design. This project is trailblazing in drawing attention to this hugely important issue, in a locally specific way – with simple real world practical proposals that can lead to change that has tangible positive impacts on the lives of women in Tower Hamlets.’’ Natalya Palit, Plan-making Manager, Tower Hamlets.

‘’She's the kind of collaborator who sparks creativity, gives others the confidence to step forward and is able to have fun while engaging in what is fundamentally serious work. And, crucially, she gets the job done."
Simon Wicks, Planner Magazine

“Jennie ran a great  project I produced called Peveril Gardens, in Southwark in London where her early work with audiences, in particular, residents was formative in the thinking of the project and its final form. Jennie is incredibly hardworking. She possesses impressive engagement skills, and works closely with communities. She is a true team player, and always fosters positive discussions and is a dedicated and knowledgeable person who I would comfortably recommend.” Aldo Rinaldi, Producer, Pevril Gardens

“Jennie carried out a highly consultative placemaking and spatial design exercise for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, producing a compelling and inspiring book - Future Stories: Tales from BCP Future Lab. With flair and conviction Jennie showed how we can reimagine our town centres, putting people and culture at their heart, and how we could put this into practice.” Micheal Spender, Head of Culture, BCP Council.
